The Faculty of Economics offers its partnership in the meeting organised in the framework of the Twinning Project entitled
  The meeting was organised in the framework of the twinning project entitled " Support to the Competition Authority and the State Aid Division” in auditorium 3 of the University of Shkodra 'Luigi Gurakuqi " on April 20, 2012. This meeting was mainly focused on the introduction of laws on competition and state aid and the experiences in implementing them at national and international level. The meeting was addressed to professors, students, local and national businessmen, foreign investors, local and central officials, as well as to the media. All above parties have their own interest to provide assistance to ensure effective functioning of the regulatory regime of the business environment through joint engagement and relevant regulators. Such commitments are important for Albanian economy to attract investment and benefit from the advantages associated with close integration of the European Common Market. Mr. Ridvan Troshani, Vice Chairman of Shkodra Municipality had the opening speech and said: “The establishment of an upbeat and encouraging climate for business in Shkodra is very important for the city's economic development. This should be in collaboration with partners and business stakeholders. The competition policy should form the core of economic development policies, creating the possibility of market entry of new businesses and achievement of effective competition between them. The meeting went on with the speeches of Mrs. Elida Boshnjaku - General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Shkoder, Prof.dr. Arjeta Troshani - Dean of the Faculty of Economics at University of Shkodra “Luigi Gurakuqi ", Mrs. Eralda Shtylla and Mrs. Nevila Drishti - Specialists of the State Aid Division, Mr. Norman Pearson - Expert of the European Union Member State (UK), Prof. dr. Lindita Milo (Lati) - Head of the Competition Authority and Mrs. Fausta Giasolli, Project Manager - Expert of European Union Member State (Italy). The meeting concluded with discussion on related topics.
